Rangitikei Foods Ltd is the largest fresh prepared vegetable processor in the lower North Island, specialising in the preparation of fresh vegetables to the point where they are ready to cook. We supply processed vegetables for export. We also wholesale fresh fruit and vegetables.
We operate an NZFSA Approved HACCP Based Food Safety Programme (PAL-PRWD-4DH5JL)

|  After a week of settled weather, most produce is readily available. Tomatoes continue to climb in price with a drop off in quality. The apple and pear seasons are settling down and summer fruit is at its peak.

|  With Waitangi Day week comes the schools starting up again. We have Parsnip and Swede available again but the new season Red Kumara is in poor condition to the extent that it is unpeelable. We will not have any available until mid-February when the season had progressed a bit. The problem seems to be related to the Drought in the Far North. New Season Pumpkin is available, but is still immature and the flesh is still tinged with green. This will pass as the season progresses. |

|  As we head into the last week of the school holidays we have all the summer fruit available. New Season Apples and Pears are available so there will be good variety of fruit for lunches. New Season Red Kumara is now available and we will soon know if there will be Gold Kumara available this season. we are supplying new season Onions and as soon as it matures, we will be supplying new season Pumpkin. |
